Detailed answers to each question

For All

1. What is this section of the El Dorado website all about?

This is the Emergency section of the El Dorado Mobile Home Park (MHP) community portal. It shares information with the normal website ( https://eldoradomhp.org ) and is primarily for use during an emergency or facility outage by users going to it's address https://cert.eldoradomhp.org. It will provide most current information on any major community impacting outage (power, water), police action, or disaster (fire, flood, earthquake, etc.). It's focus is the survival, health, and well being of the humans and pet residents of the park while park management focuses on the logistics of restoring infrastructure services (power, water) or working with city agencies (Sunnyvale Fire Department, PG&E, etc.) for park service restoration.

This website will be managed by the El Dorado Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) during a site emergency or outage.

What it is

  • A focal point for the CERT team to inform the park residents of the current status of the efforts of the park management and public service agencies to restore services and provide external assistance.
  • A place to report missing people or pets or issues of resident safety that can be handled by the CERT team and should not be distracting park management from restoring essential park services.
  • A place to get reference materials for preparing for and handling an emergency or outage.
What it is not
  • This website is not part of the Newport Pacific Management Company that owns and operates El Dorado MHP, but it works closely with the property manager and any on-site management staff to relay communications of restoration status.
  • It is not the sole communication channel during an outage or disaster as access to this website may be unavailable depending on the nature of the outage.
  • It is not a site to contact the park mangement about park maintenance or rent administration or to request any status information during an outage or disaster.

2. What is CERT?

CERT is a commonly used acronym for Community Emergency Response Team. It is comprised of volunteers from the community, in this case residents of El Dorado Mobile Home Park. The focus of the CERT team is to assist residents (human and pet) to stay safe during a major facilities outage or disaster.

3. Who is on the El Dorado CERT team?

On both the "normal" website (https://eldoradomhp.org) and the "emergency" website (https://cert.eldoradomhp.org) you will find in the black horizontal navigation bars at the top and bottom of the page a link for Roles and the current roster of CERT team members will be available.

4. How can I better prepare for an outage/disaster?
